The benefits for York’s residents and tourists are also significant. Our Chair of the Board. David Kerfoot says, "The works at Scarborough Bridge are progressing really well. The new bridge will not only pose an exciting new landmark for York, with increased accessibility for residents, commuters and tourists, in the long term there is potential for significant economic reward for the city. This new bridge is set to be the first step towards an ambitious vision of accessibility and connectivity for York. By joining the railway station and York central, Scarborough Bridge links York Central with regional and international businesses, which in turn provides York’s residents with fantastic employment opportunities."
