A Grow Yorkshire commissioned study examines the region’s hemp supply chain and identifies gaps and opportunities.
Hemp has a range of uses, including building materials, biofuel and clothing. In Yorkshire, around 1,600 tonnes of hemp is produced annually, which is approximately 35-40% of the current UK output. Globally, the industry is estimated to be worth more than £3bn.
The report, which is now available to read online, has been written by consultancy firm Promar International and supported by The Supply Chain Network.
