Social Mobility – Skills Partner network special
Wednesday 20 October 2021, 9am - 10:30am
Hosted by the York & North Yorkshire LEP
The impact of social mobility has an effect on everyone. Experts will present on issues and what is needed to improve opportunities.
At the York & North Yorkshire LEP, we want everyone to be empowered and equal when it comes to the social and employment opportunities available to them - which can only be achieved through collaboration. This session will focus on social mobility and feature speakers involved with the various key areas within that broad term, informing you about the current social mobility issues we must tackle. The session will also provide an opportunity for you to give feedback on current policy in regards to issues such as pay for apprenticeships and inclusion within the wider workforce.
With this webinar, we want to escalate these issues and your feedback to the Social Mobility Commission and create real change for the people within our region.
The current agenda includes:
- Introduction and welcome from the Y&NY LEP from Jude Knight
- Anna Morrison, Director of Amazing Apprenticeships
- Social Mobility Commission, Edward Donkor, Cabinet Office
- Robert Hickey, York St John University
