A message from our chair, David Kerfoot MBE DL in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Never has a local focus been more prevalent
than in this time of incredible challenge that the COVID-19 pandemic has bought to every single one of us. The LEP have always championed partnership and connections at a local level, knowing that they build up a picture that benefits the region and country as a whole. I urge every single person to seek out a way to support their local community at this time.
The first thing we can all do – is put the safety of others first.
To bring this pandemic under control it is imperative that we all follow government directives to social distance and where necessary, self-isolate. I urge every single person with a public voice to share the safety messages coming through from government and take personal responsibility. By putting others first, we keep ourselves safer.
You can find resources to help you share public health messaging HERE. NHS advice is HERE.
Keeping our local economy going, in whatever small ways that we can, is vitally important.
Help for businesses is coming. Our Growth Hub team are working hard to keep up to date with the very latest advice and support for businesses. Visit our Growth Hub COVID-19 support page HERE.
We are working with all local authorities and our partners across the region to amplify clear and concise messages that can help businesses.
Through our York & North Yorkshire Growth Hub Facebook Page
we are building connections across the region. Please visit and share information to the pages on the following:
Whilst we recognise that these times are amongst the most challenging that many will have experienced in their lifetimes, it is absolutely imperative that as leaders we remain calm, pragmatic and focussed on the outcomes we want for every individual, every community for our region and the country. Together we can turn the tide on the virus, support each other and keep our country looking ahead to the future.
