Looking back at a great York & North Yorkshire Business Summit - and at what lies ahead.
Around 200 business leaders packed York Guildhall for the first York & North Yorkshire Business Summit. The event was a new format for the Y&NY LEP Annual Conference in 2022. It was a fantastic afternoon, and the largest in-person event involving the Y&NY LEP since before the pandemic.
We heard inspiring presentations from our speakers, including some great insight into how three businesses are putting net zero into action. Look out for short films telling their stories on Y&NY LEP social media channels soon.
There was a change to our keynote speaker, with Kevin Hollinrake MP for Thirsk & Malton stepping in. Kevin also gave a great speech, which you can watch again - with all the other speaker sessions - on the Y&NY LEP YouTube channel here. In the days following the Summit, Kevin received a ministerial position which has a focus on small business and enterprise.
York & North Yorkshire Devolution, and what this means for business, was a key theme of the Summit and the conversation continues with Devolution consultation now underway. Have your say via the consultation website here.
The York & North Yorkshire LEP Annual Conference hosted the York & North Yorkshire Business Summit on Friday 21 October. It was delivered in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses, Confederation of British Industry and West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day, either in-person or via the event's livestream.
