The Local Enterprise Partnership’s Chief Operating Officer James Farrar is coordinating the area’s response to the EU Referendum result.
Mr Farrar said that whilst there has been some uncertainty created following the EU Referendum result, it was important to remember that the UK remains a great place to do business and is the highest ranked major economy in terms of doing business.
Mr Farrar said: "Our local economy has the largest private sector investment in the Northern Powerhouse, resilient small businesses and a very high quality of life - the number one issue for investors as shown by an EY Attractiveness survey
carried out in May.
"We expect our EU programme to continue and are offering solutions to government to retain investment in our area. We are working cross sector including with research and agriculture to understand the positive impact of EU funding and we will be making a strong case to government to maintain the levels of investment.

in July, and our second
