Government launches Business Readiness Fund

05/09/2019 News

Businesses need to consider the impacts of a No Deal Brexit and to make adjustments to their business and trading arrangements. Although there is not much time, there is still time to make a difference.

What’s it all about?

It’s a £10m fund for Business Organisations to provide advice and practical support to businesses in their sector to help them prepare for the immediate impacts of a No Deal Brexit.

Applications are invited from membership or subscription organisations which represent and speak on behalf of the interests of business.

Eligible organisations will include:

o Trade Associations;

o Chambers of Commerce;

o Chartered Institutes and other professional membership bodies with a significant membership; and

o Any other organisation that meets the description above.

The scheme is expected to fund activities such as:

o Advice packs and events/training workshops

o Paid information in trade press, or targeted social media

o Free webinars, podcasts,

o Other support activities that Business Representative Organisation consider would have an impact.

The minimum grant available is £25,000. There is no upper limit, but applications over £200,000 will involve greater financial scrutiny and could take a little longer to assess.

All activities must be delivered by 31 October 2019, so it is all being done at great pace, and applications will be turned around very quickly.

Please consider applying. If you have any questions, further details are available on the website: https://www.gov.uk/brexit-business-grants
